Our new Kids’ Aikido Family-Style format has been a blast, and we’d love for new families to join! We have openings available in our Tuesday class beginning April 28, and one or two left in our Thursday class beginning April 30. The class session runs for 6 weeks at 4:30-5:30pm Tues/Thurs.

This family-style class includes ages 5 and up, and parents are welcome on the mat at no additional charge (ages 5 & 6 must have an adult with them).

We will be playing lots of games and practicing Japanese terminology, mindfulness, cooperation, agency and self-regulation. And of course we’ll be working on aikido technique, footwork, and how to fall safely. We are looking forward to expanding on our bokken (sword) skills, and we will be introducing Jo (staff) practice, inspired by a student who was so excited and committed to beginning a Jo practice that he helped to build an entire set of Jo-s for the class!

If you think you might be interested in hopping on the mat (no extra charge) with the kids once you see how much fun we are having, make sure to fill out the adult’s intake/release form below. 😉 For families of kids 7 and up, you are welcome to join on the mat, or watch if that is a better fit for you, but please plan to stay for the class so the kids can touch base with you if they need to step off the mat. We have tea, wifi, lots of seating options and a mini-library available.

Registration information:
